Doodle A Day With Daisy

Friends. I love making and sharing my doodles. I love creating them and selling them. However, lately I have wanted to do more with this new found passion. To take things to an even more positive level. To share a message and have it catch on like a wild fire. I recently created some POWER WORD doodles and it seems those messages found root in my heart, because I am finding myself trying to live by them. Each one in different ways. Today it's LuckyLittleLearners word. Fearless.

See, the biggest reason I started doodling was because I have struggled for years with depression. There were some really dark days in my past. Such dark days I didn't know if I would see them through. I know it was by the grace of God and the lives of my children that those really dark days are forever in my past. One of the reasons why, is that I learned I needed to CREATE. That word saved me.

I have many outlets now, photography, watercolor and acrylic paintings. My doodles really have grounded themselves in my heart and helped me. I know now when I start to feel blue, that it's time to doodle. In fact, I think it has changed my brain a bit. Instead of getting so blue I can't get out of bed, now my brain tells me, we need to doodle. Some project inspiration will come into my mind and I WORK my way through the blues. I find it funny that this past year there are now studies cropping up to show that coloring creates happiness. I think that most artists have always known this. Children know this, that's why they love to do it. I believe that creating my silly little doodles are also making my brain happy and fighting off the sadness of life.

My message to the world this year is create. Create to find joy.

Now, I know that I am not the only doodler in the world! Admit it. I am sure there are times when you doodle too. You are on the phone with a paper nearby and you doodle while you talk. You are taking notes in class and you doodle. (Even my husband doodles and he's hardly ARTISTIC. He is logic where I am emotion.) Point is - Everyone doodles.

So, I want you to help me spread my message. Create to find joy by doodling each day. I created a list to follow to get you going.  Maybe, you won't be able to do it everyday. Maybe you won't like the topics. No worries. Join in when you can. Share the love and the hashtag. I will do one of these every month for the rest of the year. But, don't just closet doodle. Doodle and share. There is joy in showing our work to others also.

Help me friends. Let's spread joy. Let's find peace and happiness this year by increasing our endorphins as we doodle. Let's share love to those who are stuck in the blues while keeping ourselves out of the darkness that depression can bring.

Doodle with me. Use the hashtag #Doodleadaywdaisy on instagram. I will share your doodles every Sunday to spread the love all over the world. My instagram account is @DaisyADayDoodles. Check back often. Looking forward to see where this will go.

Here is February's list.

Playing With My Ocean Life Set

I am getting ready for school after being on vacation. I feel like I have been M.I.A. My blog count is down. My doodles aren't getting much action. Time to beef it up.

Yet, at the same time I am changing grades this year. I am going from 6th grade L.A. to 3rd grade. It's a jump and I have work to do. I just moved out of my room today. When I came home I needed to just relax and do some document work. So, I created a homework file rules list. With MY OWN clip art. I love it. Of course I am partial.

When I got done with that, I just started playing for no real reason. I colored a few of my doodles from the ocean life set. Thought I would share. What do you think?

I kinda like the octopus best. I hope all is well in your world.
~Blessings.

School Sets

My children have been gone for four days on a Trek. I am LDS and we believe in sending our children out to experience what our ancestors did when they were seeking religious freedom trying to flee from persecution. Essentially, they go up in the mountains and pull hand carts for four days from one destination to another. They camp, and eat pioneer type food. They sing, and have firesides or worship services. It is a life changing experience and one I am happy they could go on.

Having said that, I am also a worrying momma. It has been raining intensely for 3 days and I knew they were out in it. I didn't sleep well the first night as I listened to the lightening and thunder outside my window.

The picture shows them and the wagons they were pulling. There were over 500 youth that went and experienced this.

Needless to say they have since been rained out and are holed up in a barn waiting for their bus ride home tomorrow. While I can't wait for them to arrive and hear all their stories, I have kept my mind busy and have new sets to share with you.

I completed 3 school sets. These sets are purely selfish. I am a teacher. I have been teaching for 6 years. The last two I spent at the middle school teaching Language Arts to 6th graders. I am going back to elementary though and really excited about it. I have used other clip art to create my teacher documents and have always wanted to have my own to use. Now I do. I am excited to have them to use myself and when I am excited about something I love to share it. Below are the three sets that are now available at my ETSY and TPT shop.

I hope you enjoy them and share the place to purchase them with others. My marketing strategy is minimal. It all hinges on your support and help. I cannot tell you how much I appreicate all you do when you share, like, rate, and favorite my pages.

Don't forget to visit my other pages. The find me page has all my other sites listed for your conviencience. You can follow me on Facebook, Instagram and my shops. Check back here at my blog often. I love to share my stories and artwork. Freebies are posted with each new set. You just need to right click and then save the image and they are yours to use. I only ask that anytime you use my artwork you give me a shout out about it. You guys are the best.

Wild West - Gone Country

Set #7. Two years ago I decided I was going to make my 2nd grade classroom into a Western theme. I set out on a quest to find clip art to create my own classroom decor and documents. It was not easy. It was really hard to find any clip art that had Buckaroos, Cowgirls and Cowboys.

Today I am in a place where I can actually make my own digital clip art. I am excited because next year I get to go back to elementary after two years at a middle school. I will be resuming my Blake's Buckaroos decor. However, I can add my own clip art to my documents. I am excited. I am also happy to share it with all of you.

This set comes with 14 Country Lingo sayings, 25 images of western items, 9 color images as a thank you for purchasing my set.

Plenty of Paisley

Recently,  my sister Stephanie Lambson Johnson asked if I ever drew paisleys. The answer? Why no, but I would love to try. I have to say my best art has to be inspired and it is always better when I am doing it for someone I care about. So, here you go Steph. Don't forget to cruise over to the page at the top that says freebies. I post a freebie from every new set. All you have to do is right click and save the image. Consider it a little love from me. I appreciate you following me and loving my work.

Purchase your set at my Etsy store ----> DaisyADayDoodles-Paisleys

I hope others are enjoying my work. I am not feeling the love of purchase yet. But, I am determined to keep this going. I know it's early and start up is slow going sometimes. I will not get discouraged, but I would love your help getting my doodles out there. I believe in my friends and family that we can reach millions without the help of ads. You can help by sharing my posts. Liking my page. Following me on Face book. Following my Etsy store and writing a review for my work.

I have the most amazing, loving group of people all around me at any given time. I hope and pray for you all often and know your lives will be full and happy if they are not right now. Never give up. God bless and enjoy!

Patriotic Doodle Set

I grew up in a very patriotic home. I have 3 siblings serving in the military. My sister is a Marine. My youngest brother is in the Air Force. My middle brother served in the army. Then I married a man who retired from the Air Force. 22 years active duty. I love this country. I am thankful for my freedoms.

It is this patriotism that gets me excited about July. It's a palpable feeling on the 4th. The pride we have for FREEDOM and the gratitude for the SERVICE of our military.

With that being said I would now like to introduce you to my first Patriotic set. I am particularly proud of the tractor with the message that states "Made in America," and the military boot with the flag. I drew a girl Marine in honor of my sister. She is amazing. I look up to her in so many ways. She is made of nails with the most tender and giving heart. The man in the Air Force represents my husband, in honor of his 22 years of dedicated service to our country as a single dad.

I sincerely hope you love these doodles. Share the links with friends and family so they can enjoy them too.

The set includes 29 images in both jpg and png format. It also includes 10 images in color just for fun. Enjoy and God bless.

Maniac Magee Book Unit Doodles

One more for the day. I love the novel Maniac Magee. After trying to find line art that I could use on my teacher created documents and failing I drew my own. Now you can own it too.

You can find it at Teachers Pay Teachers at my store.
